Dry Rub
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
Meat
  • 2-3 lbs Beef or pork ribs
Optional
  • Barbecue sauce

  • Medium bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Grilling tongs
  • Grill

Dry Rub
  1. Combine dry rub ingredients in bowl
  2. Cut ribs into sections -- Cutting between each bone will make them easier to eat, but may increase the likelihood of burning
  3. Generously apply to ribs
Grill
  1. Place ribs on a hot grill (a smoker may be substituted if available), starting with bone side down
  2. Turn occasionally
  3. Grill to taste
  4. During the last five minutes of grilling, baste with barbecue sauce (if desired)
